Ingredients

1 lb. (16 oz.) pasteurized prepared cheese product, cubed

1 can (14.5 oz.) Del Monte® Fire Roasted Diced Tomatoes with Hatch Green Chilies, not drained

Optional Garnishes: Avocado, cilantro, green onion, pickled or fresh jalapeño, red or green bell pepper, lime juice or chili powder

Directions

  1. Combine cheese and tomatoes in a microwave-safe bowl.

  2. Microwave 3 minutes on HIGH; stir. Microwave 2 minutes or until cheese is melted; stir.

  3. Stove Top Directions: Combine cheese and tomatoes in a medium saucepan. Heat over medium heat, stirring frequently, until cheese is melted.

TIPS: 
• For a smoother, less chunky queso, drain tomato juices into bowl with cheese.  Chop diced tomatoes into smaller pieces and add to bowl before heating.
• It’s more than just a dip, try serving queso over nachos, totchos, baked potatoes, hot dogs, steamed veggies and more.

Variation:
Stir in 1 ingredient below before heating. Increase cook time 1 minute.
• Corn – 1 can (15.25 oz.) Del Monte® Whole Kernel Corn, drained
• Beef – 8 oz. lean ground beef, cooked and drained
• Sausage – 8 oz. fresh chorizo, cooked and drained
• Beans – 1 can (15 oz.) black beans, rinsed and drained
