Savory Pear Bites
Such a simple, no-fuss finger food with a bold and craveable sweet & spicy flavor. Excellent chilled or baked. Try the variation with peaches, basil and goat cheese.
1 can (14.5 oz.) Del Monte® No Sugar Added Sliced Pears, well drained
6 oz. prosciutto slices or very thinly sliced smoked deli ham
1 cup fresh baby arugula leaves
Blue cheese cut into slices or crumbled into large pieces
Honey
Red pepper flakes, cracked black pepper or Aleppo pepper
Pat pear slices dry with paper towels. Cut prosciutto or ham slices in half lengthwise into strips about 1 1/2-inches wide.
Place a pear slice on one end of a prosciutto strip. Place a few arugula leaves and a piece of cheese snugly beside the pear and wrap the prosciutto around and around. Secure with a pick, if desired. Continue with remaining pear slices and arrange on a platter.
Drizzle wrapped pears lightly with honey and sprinkle with desired pepper.
