1 can (15 oz.) Del Monte® Sliced Peaches in Heavy Syrup

1/4 cup white or apple cider vinegar

2 Tbsp. sugar

1/2 tsp. salt

Choice of dry spices (see below)

2 Tbsp. diced red onion

Dry Spice Options (choose 1)

  • Hot Pepper: 1/4 to 1/2 tsp. red pepper flakes
  • Curry: 1/2 tsp. curry powder
  • Sweet & Spicy: 1/8 tsp. EACH cinnamon, coriander, cumin, cayenne pepper


  1. Drain peach syrup into a microwave-safe glass measuring cup or a small saucepan. Add vinegar, sugar, salt and dry spice choice.

  2. Microwave on HIGH 1 minute or heat over medium-high heat just to simmering. Stir to dissolve sugar and salt.

  3. Pour hot liquid over peaches and onion in a medium heat-resistant bowl. Let stand until cool. Store covered in refrigerator for up to 3 days.

NOTE:  Recipe can be doubled.
