GrowingGreat is a nonprofit organization based in Los Angeles, California with the mission to empower children to make healthy food choices through hands-on science and garden education.
Del Monte has partnered with GrowingGreat since 2019 to increase the organization's national reach through the activation of science centers, children's museums, zoo and school partnerships in addition to collaborations with Mount Diablo and Los Angeles Unified School Districts.
Together, these programs help students to understand the science behind how their bodies take in nutrition, and the fun science of food. Watch here to learn more about their amazing work.
At Del Monte, we believe our future is shaped by the choices we make, no matter how small. According to our 2020 State of Healthy Eating in America Study, 1 in 3 Americans say they were never taught about healthy food options and 25% do not feel they know enough about nutrition to ensure they maintain a healthy diet. That’s why we’re partnering with GrowingGreat to expand hands-on nutrition for K-12 students across the U.S.
We know healthy eating can fuel young minds and bodies, and that adequate consumption to power kids’ smarts means going beyond the nutrition provided in school lunches to include lifelong learning for better choices.
