Revealing Milk-Bone’s First Ever Spokesdog
While there are many great things in this world – the Great Wall of China, the Great Gatsby, great balls of fire – the greatest of all is Milk-Bone’s first-ever SpokesDog, a Great Dane named Winston. Winston beat out thousands of entries from across the country to win this exclusive distinction, exemplifying the very special bond that both he and pet parent Melisa Ruppert have with one another. The close friendship between Winston and Melisa is evident from the picture and story that Melisa submitted to Milk-Bone’s Make a Milk-Bone Moment contest, a fur-ociously tight competition that was the culmination of the brand’s 100th anniversary celebration. Winston, who resides with Melisa and her family in Mosinee, Wisconsin, will receive a $100,000 contract which includes featured placement on packaging later in the year as well as involvement in several marketing initiatives for 2009. He will also serve as an advocate for the Milk-Bone Canine Heroes program, a longstanding, national-outreach program that provides canine assistance dogs to individuals with disabilities, as well as police dogs to law enforcement organizations.
